Reviews
I recently visited Bar Pigalle with a group of friends, and I must say, we were thoroughly impressed! The service was top-notch; the staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. The cocktails were absolutely delightful - expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. While the food was good, it didn’t quite align with my personal taste preferences, but everyone else in our group loved it. Overall, Bar Pigalle exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely be returning for more fantastic cocktails and outstanding service!
Love Bar Pigalle for cocktails and wine solo at the bar or for a night out with friends over their superb menu. Phenomenal wine list and super knowledgeable bartenders. The service is always really good and servers are extremely helpful with making decisions...even if it's to order to entire menu! Dinner and brunch are out of this world.
I frequent upscale restaurants in Detroit. I’d only seen this joint while trying to come up with some ideas for my Sunday Funday activities which typically involve a stop at 3 - 5 pretty nice places. But I hadn’t heard of it and neither had any of my foodie buddies.
I got a call a couple days later asking if I’d been to Bar Pigalle yet. Some friends knew the chef or the owner and wanted to know what I thought. So I got a reservation the next week before the always amazing Air Supply concert.
I expected it to be nice but they honestly exceeded my expectations. My server was super knowledgeable and the support staff was excellent as well. I probably had 4 additional food runners and server assistants who cleared courses, refilled water, and made additional suggestions.
I ordered the tasting menu and loved every course. I hate duck but that duck confit was EASILY the best duck I’ve tasted. The calabrian chili sauce in the mussels was equally as ridiculously good. The bone marrow was excellent and not anything I would’ve ordered had the chef not been the one to select my courses.
My server continued to impress with his descriptions for my wine pairings. Most servers do not know their menu like he did. Dude was a total pro. He was aware of my minor time constraint and kept everything rolling.
Lamb chops and chocolate pot de crème courses were great too.
I can’t wait to go back. I’ll be out of town next weekend. But I may try to run through again the following week.
Parking great! Across from restaurant. Was waited on promptly. Ordered drinks w appetizers. Put your order in. Takes a bit. Had bone marrow..lacked marrow but was good w the bread. Had the steak tartare.. that came after the bone marrow. So hot then cold. The flavors were not the best. Very rich. Then ordered the short rib for two. Very very rich. That was enough. Asked for bread , just a little bite…due to items being rich. They brought out grilled bread w butter ugh… very rich again. If you are use to a friendly diet of veggies and lean foods take it easy… service was excellent!!
Every bite is better than the last. The menu is small yet varied which allows them to put love into every dish. Highlights of our meal would be the mussels, scallops, bone marrow, duck confit and the short rib. Don't forget an order of the potatoes and the blondie dessert is a must as well. Our servers Greg and Sam were excellent and it is clear that Chef Norm and the owners know exactly what they are doing. Try to pop in earlier in the week to avoid the hassle of reservations.
My husband really wanted to try this place for his birthday. I made a reservation, I was super excited to come and try it out as well. Well, it did not disappoint at all. Everything went even better than expected. We were greeted by a friendly hosted (didn’t get her name but she was wearing really cute heart earrings). We were seated immediately. The velvet seats were super comfy. We were greeted someone else who brought us water right away. Greg was our server, he was fantastic. He walked us through the whole menu and made recommendations. My husband ordered the Beouf Tartare. I ordered the diver scallops and we shared the Lyonnaise Potatoes. The food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 for sure. We also ordered a couple drinks. My husband ordered the sprintz and I had the Painkiller and Goldfinch. They were both delicious, the goldfinch was stronger than the painkiller. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.
I went here with a group of three and really enjoyed myself. I tried both bourbon based drinks on the menu. Both were well balanced and decently strong. We ordered a bunch plates, as this is a place where you share plates. We had everything from a salad to ravioli to lamb chops to potatoes to duck confit to papa’s frites. M…. I think the duck was the winner although everything was good! I also had the key lime pie for dessert, it was good as well which tells me that this place does it all well. In addition, the staffs service was great. Overall this is a great place to have a meal!
Wow, Detroit does it again. A fabulous restaurant in the heart of the city.
Our waiter, Kevin, shared the great story of Pigale's origins. It was a great night, and I give it high ratings.
I've been there a couple times now and it is consistently great service and the food has been really special every time. It is clear the team in the kitchen is passionate about both the flavors and the presentation.
I've been here several times, and this last time, I tried the 5 course tasting. It was very special.
